Arab culture in focus at world Scout meet

      RINKABY — For the fifth day running, the Omani Scouts continued their participation in the camp activities of the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in this Swedish city which hosts the event from July 27 to August 6 under the theme “Simply Scouting.”


      While keeping the fast along with their Arab and Muslim brethren, the Omani Scouts interacted with everyone and participated in all scouting, religious, scientific and sport activities and events along with 39,000 leaders and Scouts from 150 countries.


     World Scouts converged at the Islam Mosque to watch the celebration of the advent of Ramadhan. On the occasion of the month and the Arab Day at the camp, a ceremony was held yesterday at the amphitheatre. It was attended by Dr Atif Abdul Majid, Secretary-General of the Arab Scout Organisation, and representatives of Arab and Islamic countries.
